Upon arrival, our collaborators will transfer you to the hotel. A documentation kit, detailed program explanation plus luggage and hotel registration assistance is offered. This tour through the different sceneries that characterize Santiago begins by the city's old residential area, passing by beautiful residences that today are part of the Barrio Universitario. Then, you will continue to the Parque Forestal, where you can admire the stunning building that houses the Fine Arts museum. The tour ends by visiting the bohemian Bellavista neighborhood. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Santiago.
Departing in the early morning from Santiago, you will pass through the beautiful Casablanca Valley to reach the magical port of Valparaíso, dubbed a World Heritage site by UNESCO due to its importance as a port in days gone by. The tour continues to Cerro Alegre, where you will visit the Open Sky Museum, with walls and stairways of murals painted by local artists. Then, drive along the coast to Viña del Mar, to enjoy a panoramic view of the city and the Pacific Ocean. Overnight in Santiago.
Transfer to Concha y Toro winery, in the Pirque area. To begin with, you will walk through the winery's ancient park; its extraordinary harmony is an invaluable legacy of Chile's landscaping history. Next, you may admire the Casona's exterior, previously the summer residence of the Concha y Toro family. Enjoy a glass of "Terrunyo" Sauvignon Blanc at the El Marqués Park. The terrace will offer both, a privileged view of the "Antiguas Terrazas de Pirque" vineyard and the opportunity to taste a "Casillero del Diablo" Carmenère. Among the Winery's main attractions are its ancient cellars, and particularly "Casillero del Diablo" (Devil's Cellar), where you will learn about the famous legend that has made Chilean wine known worldwide. Once inside the winery, you will discover the character of traditional Chilean grape varieties of "Marqués de Casa Concha" Merlot. Overnight in Santiago.
At the scheduled time, transfer to airport for your flight to Calama. Upon arrival, our collaborators will transfer you to the hotel. In the afternoon transfer from your hotel to the Cordillera de la Sal, wonderful natural phenomenon that was formed millions of years and which appeared unusual shapes and shiny minerals composed of hills of salt, gypsum and clay, spectacular natural sculptures and various colors the minerals that form. During the tour you can take pictures of these curious formations. Then continue to the Valley of the Moon, a nature sanctuary, where you can see a geological spectacle of great beauty, especially at sunset with its strange lunar look. You will cover different sectors, the pillars of salt "Tres Marias", the salt mine, caves and lookouts, finally ending in the large "Central Dune" to watch the sunset. Return to your hotel. Overnight in San Pedro de Atacama.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Toconao town, the road goes straight across the plain overlooking the Licancabur volcano, on the road you can see tree species native to the area as chañar and tamarugo, after reaching the village of Toconao located at 2,475 meters, an oasis where people grow all kinds of fruit. Short visit to the main square with its church and tower of San Lucas, declared National Monument. Its houses built of volcanic stone (Liparita), panoramic view of the quarry and Jere Valley. Then delve into the Salar de Atacama, located in the Los Flamencos National Reserve at an altitude of 2,305 mts, more saline surface 400 km2. It is the largest salt deposit in Chile, formed in a depression without water outlet, which receives the San Pedro River and numerous creeks through which water seeps in the highlands. The formation of lagoons such as Chaxa has generated a proliferation of bird species especially the flamingos, who have made their natural habitat of the salt. At the end of this trip you will admire a spectacular sunset, enjoying the silence and the peace of the salt. Return to Hotel. Overnight in San Pedro de Atacama.
Early morning departure for an excursion to "El Tatio Geysers", a geothermal field flanked by soaring Andean peaks. Located at 4321 mts above sea level, the geysers become active it right before dawn, when the geothermal energy's concentration reaches its peak. It is at this time when columns up to a height of 6 mts erupt from the geyser. After crossing the geothermal field you will have breakfast. A short trek will allow you to observe examples of the Andean fauna, including vizcachas and gumps who lay close to the vegetation on route back to the hotel. Overnight in San Pedro de Atacama.
At the scheduled time, transfer to the airport to take your departure flight.
