Overnight in La Paz.
In the morning, you will visit the Tiahuanaco ruins, which is located 72 km/45 miles away from La Paz. The trip passes through the Bolivian Highlands were you can see the Aymara Indians way of life. It was one of the oldest American cultures, Carbon 14 dating give us an average age of 1580 BC to 1150 AC. It is considered the cradle of the American man and one of the most advanced cultures in development at that time. Their main constructions are: the Kalasasaya temple with the main stone work done like the Gate of the Sun, the monoliths Ponce and Fraile; the Akapana pyramid and the Semi underground temple. Visit of the two local museums to see the rich pottery and stone work. At the end, you will return to La Paz.
In the afternoon tour of 4 hours in La Paz, including the area of the street markets, rich in handicrafts, weavings and witchcraft artifacts. The tour goes through the colonial part of the city, San Francisco Church, Instruments Museum, Murillo Square and the outdoor replica of the Tiahuanaco temple. Then to the modernpart of town, dropping down a lot in elevation to finally visit the Valley of the Moon, enjoy all of its natural geological formations. Overnight in La Paz.
At the scheduled time, transfer from La Paz to Copacabana by bus (it lasts 3 – 4 hours), take the boat to the Island of the Sun (1 hour), land near Pilkokaina ruins and have a typical aptapi. Then you will hike for about one hour to overnight in Ecolodge La Estancia.
You can sail to the Chincana (1 hour) to see these beautiful Inca ruins. Continue by boat to the island of the Moon, visit the ruins of Iñak Uyu and then to Copacabana (2 hours), visit the Black Virgin and beautiful church, with a stroll through the city. Transportation to La Paz (3 hours). Overnight in La Paz.
At scheduled time, transfer to the airport to take your flight to Uyuni. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your salt hotel in the village of Colchani, to then start the trip to the shores of the saltflats, to see the locals extract salt. Continue to the saltflats of Uyuni is something you will never forget, because you are in a perfect highway of over 10,000 km2 all of white salt, until arriving to "Isla Incahuasi" (2 hours), a special habitat of giant cactus and volcanic rocks. Picnic lunch and trip north to see the mommies of Coquesa and trip back to Colchani (2 hours).Overnight in Colchani.
Morning trip from Colchani, passing the town of Uyuni, to enter through branches of the Andes Range. The views on the road are great, with lots of colours and formations done by the erosion, as well as remote villages, whose people are dedicated to basic agriculture. Reaching Potosi and seeing its famous Cerro Rico from far is nice and surely transport you hundreds of years ago, when it was one of the largest cities of the world. In the afternoon, visit of the Mint House to see the entire legacy left by the silver production, traditional colonial streets and the artisan market. Continue to San Francisco and San Lorenzo churches, this
last has one of the greatest examples of stone carvings of the baroque-Indian style. Overnight in Potosi.
This excursion allows the visitors to experience an unforgettable trip thousands of meters or feet underground, to see the living and working conditions of the Bolivian miners (protective clothing and helmets are provided). The silver mine is in the famous Cerro Rico, once the richest of the world.
In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the bus station. Departure to Sucre, the trip takes 3 to 4 hours starting in the highlands, with forming valleys that later will drop its waters to the Pilcomayo River, one of the main tributaries of the River of La Plata. Then, descend to the lower valleys gives you a good perspective of why the Spaniards changed their homes from Potosi to the warmer valleys of Sucre (guide is not included). On arrival to Sucre, you will be transferred to the hotel. Overnight in Sucre.
This tour includes the visit of la Casa de la Libertad's Facade, where the Act of Independence of Bolivia was signed in 1825; Bolivar Park, to see examples of the aristocratic tradition of Sucre, with small replicas of the Eiffel Tower and the Arc of Triumph of Paris and the church and museum of La Recoleta. You will visit also of the ASUR Indian Textiles museum, to see the great legacy of the Yampara, Jalq'a and Tarabuco cultures.
