DAY 01: Mumbai - Christchurch
“Haere Mai” – Welcome to Christchurch. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore what Christchurch has to offer. Overnight at Hotel. |
 DAY 02: Christchurch - Greymouth - Glacier Region
Depart Christchurch on the Tranz Alpine Train. The Tranz Alpine is described as “The Great New Zealand Rail Adventure” and is rated as one of the top six scenic train journeys in the world. The Tranz Alpine winds its way over massive viaducts, through spectacular river gorges and the stunning Waimakariri River valley. It tracks its way up and across the spectacular Southern Alps via the alpine village of Arthur’s Pass, before descending through lush beech forests past the beautiful Lake Brunner to the West Coast town of Greymouth, on the Tasman Sea. Travel south along the Scenic West coast, enjoying views of the Southern Alps to the East and the Tasman Sea to the west as you make your way to the Glacier Region. Overnight at hotel. |
DAY 03: Glacier Region - Queenstown
Depart from the Glacier Region in the morning and travel down the West Coast past spectacular mountain ranges, native forests and lakes to the Haast Pass, gateway to World Heritage Westland National Park. Follow the shores of Lakes Hawea and Wanaka to the resort city of Queenstown. Overnight at hotel. |
DAY 04: Queenstown
Today is at leisure to relax or explore Queenstown. Optional activities available include bungee jumping, jetboating, white water rafting, four wheel driving, cruising on Lake Wakitipu, riding a gondola to the summit of Bob’s Peak for panoramic views or simply enjoying the excellent shopping and dining available. Overnight at hotel. |
DAY 05: Queenstown – Milford – Queenstown
Follow the southern arm of Lake Wakitipu to Lumsden, and onward to Lake Te Anau. The scenery changes dramatically from tussock covered grasslands to glacier hewn valleys as you enter the Eglington Valley and travel through the breathtaking man-made Homer Tunnel to reach Milford Sound. Enjoy a cruise on this world famous fjord, dominated by Mitre Peak and the cascading Bowen Falls. On completion you will return to Queenstown by coach. An optional scenic flight to Queenstown is available. Overnight at hotel. |
DAY 06: Queenstown – Rotorua
Transfer to Queenstown airport for your flight to Rotorua today. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight at hotel. |
 DAY 07: Rotorua
Today visit Whakarewarewa thermal reserve to view the boiling mudpools and cascading Pohutu geyser, that makes Rotorua famous as New Zealand’s “thermal city”. Here you can also enjoy a visit to the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute. Next travel on to Paradise Valley Springs to view the resident bird life, native flora and fauna, and see local brown, rainbow and tiger trout as they swim in the crystal clear spring waters. Lastly travel onto the Agrodome for an entertaining show featuring sheep dog demonstrations, cow milking and an introduction to the stars of the sheep industry - the various breeds that have established New Zealand as one of the foremost farming nations in the world. DAY 08: Roturua - Waitomo - Auckland
Today you depart Rotorua and travel over the forested Mamaku Ranges to reach Waitomo. Upon arrival in Waitomo, enjoy a guided tour of the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves including an underground boat ride (weather permitting) on a subterranean river. Overhead thousands of tiny glowworms light up the cave walls and roof. On completion continue through the fertile Waikato area through Hamilton, New Zealand’s fourth largest city to reach Auckland. Overnight at hotel. |
DAY 09: Auckland - Mumbai
At leisure today until transferred to the airport for your onward flight to Mumbai with all the happy memories of your tour with Equino Fun Holidays. |
