DAY 01: Colombo
On arrival transfer to your hotel. In the evening go for a city tour. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. Yet in some parts, the old world charm is retained. As an example there is a 100-year-old clock tower and several British built colonial buildings. Other places of interest are the old parliament, residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent and the Bandaranaike memorial international conference hall - BMICH, an outright gift to Sri Lanka from the people’s republic of China. DAY 02: Kandy
After breakfast proceed to Kandy. Enroute visit the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela. This orphanage is the home for about 60 elephants, out of which many are baby elephants found, abandoned or orphaned in the wild. The best time to visit is during the feeding times, when one will have the opportunity of seeing the baby elephants being bottle-fed. You could also accompany the elephants to a river close-by and see the elephants having their daily bath. Check in at Earl’s Regency hotel. In the evening visit the temple of the tooth relic and thereafter witness a cultural show featuring traditional Sri Lankan dancing. Overnight at hotel. |

DAY 03: Kandy
After breakfast go for a city tour. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings, which is a world heritage site. The name, Kandy, conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy lake built by the last sinhala king Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1806. Visit the arts & crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. In the evening visit the peradeniya botanical gardens. Overnight at hotel. |
DAY 04: Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Enroute visit a tea plantation and a tea factory, where the best tea in the world is produced. Taste a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. Check in at Hotel Tea Factory. In the evening go for a city tour. Nuwara Eliya, because of its invigorating mountain climate and scenery, is Sri Lanka’s most popular hill resort. It is also the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country producing a significant share of the world’s best tea. Sri Lanka’s highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 feet) is located here. Nuwara-eliya also has one of the finest 18 hole golf courses in south Asia. Overnight at hotel. |
DAY 05: Colombo
After breakfast proceed to Colombo via Kitulgala. Kitulgala is the place where the famous ‘Bridge on the River Kwai’ film was made. Also enroute observe the water falls, St. Clare’s and Devon. Check in at Taj Samdura Hotel, Colombo for overnight stay. |
DAY 06 : Bentota
In the morning do a shopping tour of Colombo. Visit the Noritake Ceramic Showroom, majestic city shopping complex, ODEL and House of Fashion dress boutiques. Thereafter in the afternoon proceed to Bentota and check in at Golden Sun Resort. |
DAY 07: Bentota
Full day at leisure on the beach. (Optional boat ride in the evening). Over night stay at hotel. |
DAY 08: Colombo - Mumbai
Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight back to Mumbai, with all the happy memories of your tour with Equino Fun Holidays. |
